Lancaster County Soapworks, Etc. is a small home based company, and its owner, Maryanne Schwartz, has been manufacturing quality soaps and other body care products since 1992.

Originally a sideline of a retail shop, soapmaking evolved into a wholesale business in 2000. 

Since selling the shop and moving the "manufacturing facility" home, it has become a real family business with Maryanne, her husband Bob, and son Rob all involved in their own ways.

Bob takes care of the "engineering department", building molds, displays, cutters, and actually transforming the shop itself into a great workspace.  

Rob is now a college student and we're happy he's still close enough to continue his "critique" and help out in a pinch. 

Maryanne's former partner in the aforementioned shop (and sister!), Tina, is a major cheerleader while also pitching in with all aspects of the day to day operation.

Growing up in Lancaster County, we are ourselves a mixture of the "Plain" and "Fancy" elements.  We try to bring you the best of both worlds by using only the finest, pure and natural ingredients while, like the quilters and other craftspeople in our area, find it possible to express our creativity in beautiful, yet useful, ways.
